Memorial website in the memory of your loved one

In memory of our beautiful Simone.

Simone was a beautiful healthy little girl. She was a surprise late addition to our family. She has two older brothers Robert and Daniel who are 14 and 10 years older.
She was surrounded by family and friends who adored her. She was a happy little girl who loved life. She loved to dress up and thought she was a princess. She loved unicorns, rainbows, the moon ,stars and everything magical. She loved to dance and sing, she went to ballet. She loved school and was very bright.
We run a pub and she was everyone's friend, she would interact with all, she treated the pub as if it was her playhouse. She had a great temper and would scare the most brave, all would run if she was upset. She was the centre of our world and we are so lost without her, but we feel very honoured to have been blessed with her.
Her passing was sudden and totally unexpected. We are still in the process of tests for a precise diagnosis, but now  know she had  a problem in how she digested food. The problem happened in the couple of hours before she passed, it was that sudden. Nothing could have prepared us, she was a picture of health.
We have set up a galixy tribute fund in Simone's name, to help fund research into fatty oxidation disorders, (Fods)

She was only here for a devastatingly short time,  but she certainly left her mark. Everyone who met her was touched by her wonder, it has been very hard on everyone to lose someone so special, she enriched our lives .I feel honered to have been her mother.

A butterfly alights beside us like a sunbeam,
for a brief moment it's glory and beauty belong to our world.
Then it flies on again.
Although we wish it could have stayed,
we are so thankful to have seen it at all.

Her legacy
Simone's legacy
Simone's legacy will be to raise awareness of Fatty oxidation disorders. Her brothers WILL know if they have the condition or are carriers. If you know you have the condition you can lead a perfectly normal life, you just have to follow certain procedures. She will give that gift to them, so that they have the knowledge.
Fatty oxidation disorders such as MCADD (there are many more) are portrayed to be very rare. Not rare enough, Simone 'died' from one, while appearing to be in perfect health. Fatty oxidation disorders come under the term 'metabolic' and can be very hard to diagnose.
Many children usually babies die suddenly and unexpectedly, how many I can't help wonder have been put into the bracket of cot death .I honestly don't believe they are as rare as the medical profession previously thought, hence the reason they have started a pilot screen in half the country testing new-borns.
We were warned by the people who take over your child, and your life, after a sudden death ,that we might never know the reason for Simone's death, these things sometimes just happen to babies and young children. I made it perfectly clear to all involved that I WOULD NOT ACCEPT THAT, there is always a reason, so find it. A perfectly healthy child a month off her 5th birthday doesn't just die. We have had to keep on to them to keep looking and testing to give us the answers we need and deserve.
Simone has also made all her family and friends aware that life can be short and very unpredictable. The whole community was in shock from our families tragedy, it brought it home that if this could happen to Simone who was a picture of health then it could happen to anyone.           http://www.fodsupport.org                             http://www.climb.org.uk
